Wrexham v Newport (Sat 1st – 1pm)

Tomorrow we have a welsh derby against Newport. Carrying on the tradition this season RPer BillTheRed spoke with Steve from http://amberarmy.blogspot.co.uk/ and conducted a mammoth interview…

1. You’ve made a cracking start to the season, why do you think that is?

There are a number of different theories as to why Newport have started so well this season.  Players such as club captain David Pipe and left back Andy Sandell have attributed the success, at home at least, to the increased numbers and passion of the crowd, which feels much closer to the pitch at Rodney Parade than it did at Spytty Park, where an athletics track somewhat isolated the crowd from proceedings on the pitch.  The fans and the move have undoubtedly played their part, with Rodney Parade allowing Newport to play the kind of pass and move game that Justin Edinburgh wanted to play last season.  However, the state of the pitch at Spytty made this impossible.  The most significant factor in the dramatic improvement though are the new signings.  Aaron O’Connell has already six times and looks full of quality, whilst much is expected of Lee Evans who made his home debut when Wrexham visited Spytty back in April and is now breaking into the first team on a regular basis.  Former Hereford player Tony James has also forged a strong partnership with Ishmael Yakubu at the heart of defence, which has meant that we are no longer giving away preventable goals, as we were last season.  In summary then, there are a whole range of factors why Newport are doing so well.  Whilst we may be surprised with how well they have started, many fans were expecting us to push for the play offs this season.  Read more

RedPassion Supports Dynamic

January 8, 2012 by · Leave a Comment

This is the first time RedPassion has done something like this, but hopefully it’s the start of something new. Choosing a charity is not easy, especially when you would like to support and help all charities.

RedPassion chose Dynamic, a charity based in Wrexham that help children and young people who have disabilities, to be able to do out of school activities.

The children at Dynamic have a range of disabilities, ranging from physical, intellectual or sensory impairments, to emotional problems and life threatening illnesses.

RedPassion wanted to support Dynamic and help promote them to the Wrexham public as a way to say thank you for their tremendous support they provide to families who would find it hard to enjoy a normal independent lifestyle. We also hope that this will result in more donations, volunteering and fundraising from the general public.
