Because we would be entitled to 25% of any money raised for the sale.
To keep things simple.
They sell him for 1 million. We get 250k.
If they get an additional 250k because Aberdeen qualify for the champions league.
And another 250k because Moult scores 50 club goals.
The total raised from the transfer would be 1.5 million. So we are entitled to 25% of the total which is 375k.
