He booked him and then put his book away, then about a minute later the subs board was getting sorted by the incompetent 4th official. Then the ref had another look and showed the red. I immediately knew he was sent off. Rutherford then tried to pull a fast one by acting as though he was just being subbed. For a moment I thought we’d got away with it but then I worried that the game would have to be replayed or something. We knew what we were doing and that’s disappointing, we would be screaming blue murder if Halifax had tried that.
