I couldn't understand, why Rutherford didn't say something, as he walked to the dug-out.
Surely he knew he'd been shown a second yellow, and then a red.
A simple "Sorry Boss/Gaffer, I've been sent off" would have prevented the substitution farce, from taking place.
He appeared to say nothing - high-fived others on the bench, and sat down.
He must have known he had to leave the field .... which he eventually did, after MacKreath returned to the dug-out.
