I really can't get too excited over these issues - they may never happen in relation to
Chester / Tranmere or both for beyond this season.
Putting a mere line of stewards in one stand and hoping they can keep Wrexham &
Chester apart will end in disaster.
My real concern for the
Chester fixture 'this March' having witnessed the lack of control by NWP after the match v Tranmere is how the
Chester fans are allowed to disperse after the game - they need to be controlled via 'one' route especially those heading back towards the railway station.
When the
Chester support is housed in the GUS / Tech End - and the temporary big gate used to be located on the corner of the Tech End / Yale Stand - all
Chester support had to exit towards Mold Road - and not be permitted to go behind the Yale Stand where many home fans, families and kids are congregated using both the club shop & Centenary Club.
The police can't be everywhere but at least if they channel
Chester fans from the exit gates towards Mold Road for onward dispersal they can at least cross the back of the Yale Stand & Crispin Lane off their list for a potential kick off and in doing so provide a safe recognized haven for home support whilst the crowd departs.
