I actually disagree. The quality might be less but the league itself is actually stronger and more competitive.
Each season there are more and more teams that fight for the top rather than one or two pulling away. A lot of the teams are on a similar level so IMO that's why we see teams from lower down beating those higher up.
Just because the standard is worse doesn't mean its not more competitive IMO.
