Your point on managers getting fans onside isnt great! Man Utd fans wanted Sir Alex gone.....he was rumoured to be for the chopping block until Mark Robbins scored the goal that got them to the next round of the cup.
Whilst I agree the club/fans/player/manager all pulling together as one team would equal more success, this is earnt by results on the pitch.......fans love winning!!
