I remember seeing him at Ellesmere Port stadium in a pre season friendly between Ellesmere Port & Chester - he had his ankle in a plaster cast at the time and was on crutches - I suggested to him a quick cure - plunge your foot in a bucket of Wrexham lager - Chester won on the night 2 - 4 I think.

The following Saturday Wrexham played there - I remember Keiron Durkan playing for us - we lost 2 - 0.

For those who recall Ellesmere Port stadium it was used primarily for speedway - it's now all demolished and covered in houses.
