On the face of it, a forward looking appointment. Will he be given time?
In the short term, it very much depends on whether the playing squad, particularly the older heads, see him as a positive appointment from their own perspectives, and are prepared to play for him.
If they don't, Wilkin will have a torrid tail end to his season, and the knives may well come out on here, and at the Racecourse. Let's hope not.
Also, as an aside, and I fully expect to get shot down in flames for this, but I think Nuneaton could now do worse than appoint Morrell until the end of the season. He has the credentials of the play-offs and Wembley experience as a Manager. You never know, stranger things have happened...........
