They will be playing in the midweek football colleges league I think - a standard well below the current youth alliance which itself is below the CAT 1 & 2 schemes. The youth will win every game with many probably going double figures - they won't learn much.
Chester in a similar position but at least they get the majority of their 2nd year players out into Counties, Unibond or 21s teams at the weekend and the 1st years and 16s play North West Youth Alliance which is reasonably competitive. Efforts need to be made to get the players moved into affiliate teams of a weekend to get them stretching game time.
