And the irony is the focus on getting back into the league is at least partly driven by the fact that so many people insist that there is no ambition to do so.
Who knows what will be left if and when we reach the promised land? I think we do know - scorched earth. There being no Young Player of the Year award this time ought to have woken up more people than it has. It’s not easy of course, especially with a need to make new training ground arrangements, but it is dismissed so easily that you have to wonder who cares?
