We’ve reached one playoff final in 4 attempts in 11 seasons. We have only reached two trophy finals in those 11 seasons and managed to throw one away from the jaws of victory. Has all this failure had an affect on us supporters?

Ah, it's a genuine question and not a dig, actually yes I think looking at it in that way fans probably do expect the worst now. But as you say, turn up in numbers for the pleasure (or not) of it.
