What stood out for me in the article was the following:
“What was extraordinarily was for Barrow to be wheeled out for a “Meet the Manager” event after he had already told the board that he wanted to step down”.
So the fans gathered to listen to Barrow’s vision for the future when everybody on the top table knew he was going to piss off as soon as he could.
To me that’s worse than the Manny Smith non announcement.
They shouldn’t have bothered with the event and waited for the new manager to be appointed. They were basically conning everybody who was there and no doubt some had travelled a fair distance to be there.
