The biggest thing that let Saunders down but also made him relatively successful was his Ego. But then again he'd been there and done it at the highest level. A lot to be proud of.
Couldn't fault his enthusiasm.
And it took him 2 seasons before he had got to grips with the league and realised what was needed player wise. Had we have been able to keep him I doubt we'd still be in non league now.

Problem is as soon as we get a manager who starts doing well they can't wait to jump ship, which is a huge problem.

I see Hughes being similar to Saunders. It may take some time for him to get it right. But he probably won't get it. Which makes his appointment very strange besides the fact he was plucked from nowhere.
