Ken Barnes, a super player, was not great with young lads in my opinion. I also trained a couple of times in midweek on the main pitch with the Youth squad at Wrexham. Not much feedback. Maybe it was the Grammar school boy bit he did not like or maybe I just was not good enough. I signed for
Chester a couple of years later!
