Regarding Grant - how do you know he would have been released ?
I think the clean sheets were more to do with two top notch centre halves, a very organised back 4 (protected by Walker) and an ultra defensive approach across the whole team. This left an isolated striker up front. The lack of goals was definitely linked with the high number of clean sheets. That is, the clean sheets weren’t really a result of Lainton saves.

I’m assuming the obvious in terms of Grant bring released. His attitude and form were so poor, that it’s hard to think that any manager on the planet would retain him.
