Default Re: The 20% budget increase - True or False?

The problem is recruiting bad managers, I’m still waiting to hear the reasoning behind giving Hughes the manager’s job with a 3.5 year contract. You have to give your manager some freedom to bring in players they want and spend the budget given to them, otherwise if you don’t trust them what’s the point of appointing them. That’s my reasoning where the budget went, not that I ever thought Hughes was a good appointment.

The problems started when we allowed Shrewsbury’s request to speak with Ricketts. It was naivety in the extreme, he may have been disappointed, but I’m sure he would have respected the decision. I don’t believe he would have walked as we were top of the league, and would probably have got us promoted, thereby enhancing his portfolio.

How many other teams at the top of the National League have let their managers go, I bet Barrow hang onto theirs.
