The steward responsible for the board room has been doing the job for the last 32 years and knows the protocol inside out.
He keeps ties available for visitors arriving without one.
Before the days of the WST he asked Sir Alex Ferguson to leave because he was in breach of another rule. Sir ALex was more than happy to comply.
