Re: New Season threatened
Sadly, coronavirus and the resulting illness Covid-19 are not going away, it may die down a bit over the summer as it cannot survive much in the heat/sun but it will rise again in the autumn (see refrigerated meat packing factories in Llangefni and Wrecsam as examplea), until we get mass vaccinations there will be excess deaths above the average.
Generally, young fit healthy people will not die from it, in fact they will hardly notice it, however, they be carriers, and will spread it to anybody that comes within 2 meters of them coughing, sneezing and breathing, (it is a very highly contagious airborne virus after all), and if any of those people have a weakened immune system they are at risk of a life changing or life ending illness.
So basically the lockdown is for the lives of those people at risk not those who are strong, so think about them whilst you "don't give a toss what the restrictions are, I'm doing what I want"
As regard to football, keeping fans 2m apart in the ground is the easy part -keeping them apart before and after the game is the difficult bit. Lets face it, the pictures and videos this week from Bournemouth, Anfield, Ogmore by the sea etc shows crowds cannot be trusted to act sensibly.
WAFC are probably in a worse situation than most in this division as we were expecting certain crowds to break even and also need that as we haven't got a benefactor, whereas most teams in this division hardly ever break even with crowds alone, and the shortfall is covered by the owners etc,
Combine all this with the worst season we've ever had and the fans somewhat divided, and the fans run club emerging in to what seems a revolution turned dictatorship, Robert Mugabe style, then it doesn't seem next season will be the "heulwen ar fryn" we are all hoping it will be.......
