They're not ignoring lockdown because they are permitted to work. If footballers were meeting up outside of work then they would be ignoring lockdown.
Perhaps the league below the Premier League should not be operating because their testing is not as robust.
I get your point about it not being the same because my office is still open whereas it was closed from mid March to June last year.
Everyone is advised to work from home
if you can but all you'd have to say to be able to go to the office is your WiFi is rubbish or you have mental health issues and they'd be sufficient reasons to go into the office.
