There are very few class players at this level, our youngsters (just like our midfielders) need to bulk up in the gym so they stand a chance of holding their own against the bruisers they will come up against. Then they can learn their trade in real time situations on the pitch.

Granted only a tiny number of kids will go on to have a career in the game and until they get onto that pitch in a competitive game, you will never know if they will sink or swim.

At least now with a manager who cares enough about our youth that he turns up to watch them play, gives the youngsters hope that one day it could be them.
I say he wasn’t that good (5/10) and you say he was ok (6/10?)…yet I’m talking rubbish.

Whether Parkinson cares about youth, time will tell. The proof will be how many he plays. The way the youth set up has been neglected over the years would suggest it could be a while before players are the requisite standard to compete for a starting role.
