18th place and 10 points off the lead (converting 2 points per win to 3).

The point I am making is that it’s early days (yeah yeah, we then signed Dixie and Dai, which we can’t do now and we know how that turned things), but those who were around in 1977 know how rubbish we were early season with the hangover from the Palace and Mansfield games (especially that Brian Lloyd game at Salop) until it gelled. This has been an unforgiving set of opening fixtures.

Definitely sounds from tonight’s commentary like MF is an issue, mind.
