Anyone thinking that was caught up in the emotion that surrounds the story which is easy to do, history tells us the likes of Salford, Forest Green, Stockport have spent big and non found the league a walk in the park.
In some respects we have been unlucky with the fixture list which was pretty horrific and hasn’t allowed our players to gel against weaker opposition. However we haven’t helped ourselves with some strange recruitment in midfield.
The reality is some teams like Chesterfield needed fine tuning while we needed overhauling so they are in a better position. I don’t think we will win the league, but if we can go into the play offs strong we have a chance.
