One key difference is that with neither Moss or Hamilton it was largely desling with an individual, and were there wasn't an a number of henchmen ready to physically assault anyone who protested.

Everyone knew his line of business and whilst I'm not saying it is definitely the case, more people would be comfortable protesting against an individual businessman such as Hamilton (however unscrupulous or unhinged), rather than a guy who heads a well known network of criminal operations and has 'employees' who could deal with issues.

I am sure that plenty of Wxm fans would still have 'got at' Vaughan and made life difficult, but convincing the majority of Wrexham fans to engage in protest with a known criminal would be probably be a harder sell and it's harder to disrupt business that is illegal in nature.

Don't get me wrong, Chester fc's accounts show that they are 'chasing the dream' and they deserve a kicking for that after their history, but I wouldn't say it was like-for-like in terms of whether they did 'let their club die'.

They should however have clocked what he was up to far earlier in greater numbers, as it went on for years and right to the end there were fans defending him and focusing on how he saved the club by buying their way back into the league under mark wright.

A fair post. Chester fans had already marched, boycotted and intimidated Terry Smith out (the mad yank). Vaughan came in and saved the club from dropping into BSPN (oh the shame!) and subsequently got us promoted back to the league. On the pitch things were great for a number of years. Rumours abounded but the average joe doen't bother with those if the results are coming.

and thats the problem.

A lot of fans don't care about who owns the club or what damage they are doing to it as long as the results on the pitch are ok.

All fans should have an interest what is going on behind the scenes and how sustainable the club is in the long term.

In an ideal world, I don't know what its like at wrexham being fan owned, but over on divvy chat if a fan dares to question anything the board decide to do, they are usually met with replies of "keep your nose out" or "let the board get on with there jobs" and my personal favourite, "look where we were a few years ago, we never even had a team"

I thought you defended Vaughan on divvy chat when he owned us or is that just gossip?

I won't deny I know vaughan, I also have seen him a few times after the demise of chester.

I agreed with a lot of the things that were posted on deva chat during our final few weeks, but I would never had admitted that to them, I used to purposely post drivel to to get a reaction out of the usuall keyboard warriors and clowns.
