Sadly, I have to agree. Absolutely nothing to do with gender, I find higher pitch commentary uneasy to listen to - same with audio book narrators - particularly when excited (not that there's much excitment!).

I agree. As pointed out above, on the whole people get better with experience.
I think it has been 100% the domain of men before so a female voice sticks out more than usual, so will get more focus. It is like the melt down people had when match of the day had a female commentator, or women on pundit panels and some still hate it.
Start a thread on the main forum asking how the womens first team is doing and watch the swarm of angry men posting
