Rushden assistant manager Paul Driver told BBC Radio Northamptonshire:
"We're now playing teams in the same boat as us.
"They are obviously going to be quite positive going into the game.
"That might help us, that it's a bit more open and we can get it down and play, rather than trying to be breaking down seven, eight and nine man defences."
Striker Sam Smith could miss the rest of the season as he continues to suffer with a groin tear.
