The English Defence League, masquerading as the Welsh defence League, are planning a 'demonstration' on November 21st in Wrexham.

The English Defence League claim they are not a racist organisation. The truth, however, is that is exactly what they are, as the picture above clearly demonstrates.

They are a bunch of football hooligans who now spend their Saturday's travelling to various towns and cities and trying to incite racial hatred. They were founded by members of the 'Swansea Loyalist' group of far-right thugs and their main organiser is a BNP member. Many believe the EDL to be a front group for the BNP and the National Front.

We must oppose the EDL in Wrexham, and we can do this by uniting the community - just like in Birmingham, Manchester, London, and in recent weeks Swansea and Newport.

The EDL have 'formed' a Wrexham branch and have stolen our club badge, which they are using to promote their racist lies. It is our badge and our community and we must not allow a bunch of racists to descend on OUR town.

Please join this Facebook group. We will be organising over the next few weeks, and will seek to bring together every group, organisation and individual, from any and every background, who is opposed to racism and revolted by the EDL.

Can any groups, organisations and crucially individuals who wish to be involved in organising against these racist thugs please get in touch?

We want EVERYBODY behind this - in Newport last week, the community pulled together so magnificently that the EDL bottled it and didn't show, leaving a thousand proud Neportians, of every colour, race and religion, to enjoy a community fesitval instead. This is what we want here in Wrexham.

No other town or city has rolled over and allowed these thugs to, essentially, riot and attack minorities. Let's not be the first people.

Everybody needs to pull together. I am a member of the Socialist Party but we want members of every (non-racist) political party or not of any party at all. We want hundreds on the streets of Wrexham, standing shoulder to shoulder, as one community against these extremist racist thugs.

Do you have any links etc showing that a 'Wrexham Branch' has been formed and this planned demonstration?
After visiting one of the EDL Facebook sites 'Support The English Defence League' and sifting through the photo albums it is quite obvious that some individual has been busy with PaintPro (or whatever) and stolen the badge from almost every football club in the country.
Yes they have stolen our badge and nearly every other football badge in the country.

I will be making an effort to travel from Corwen for this there no room for small minded behaviour in civilised society .. And I'm disgusted that they are going to use OUR club badge as a symbol of their own ignorance and fascist ideology ...

Everyone needs to get behind this, i'm coming back from uni for it, and hopefully we'll get a massive turnout and they'll bottle it. Maybe we could get a flag with the Wrexham badge and WREXHAM FANS AGAINST RACISM on it'?? Just a thought...

My interest is soley because it is current affairs.
Judging by your past posts it is quite clear that you need to get out more and develop new interests apart from politics
I think you should also back up your accusations before spouting off and bearing false witness against people.

Wrexham are away at Histon on this day. Lets get all Wrexham fans who aren't going to the game to turn out in Wrexham and show that racists will never win in Wrexham. Could we organise some kind of Wrexham related event on the day to encourage more people to come.

The club should get someone like Joey Jones to publically condemn this scum.
