Default Yellow dotted line on laptop screen?

I've just loaded up my laptop tonight and there's yellow line going vertically across the screen. After a quick "google", it seems that it may be a problem with the hardware. Now I just wondered if anybody else has had anything similar and, if so, if they managed to fix the problem? I was debating wiping my laptop and starting from scratch, but would this actually fix the problem?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Default Re: Yellow dotted line on laptop screen?

Before doing anything, link it up to a normal monitor and see if the problem is on that too.

Also roll back the system restore a week and see if the problem is still there.

If the problem exists after the system restore and not on the monitor you need a new screen

If problem exists on the monitor and after the system restore, it's likely the problem is with the graphics card/motherboard.

The system restore should do the the same as starting from scratch and wiping the laptop.
