Yes, I noticed that too TT. The vicar on the far right has a head three times the size of everyone else.
Photo was from an old Daily Post piece about Wrexham FC Wrexham Football Club - Daily Post

Not sure why the photo had been messed with TT, but I also noticed that on the Daily Post video that the photo was taken from http://www.dailypost.co.uk/incoming/...l-club-6638892 that a few of the images dont relate to Wrexham FC either. There is one fleeting shot of the fire of London, and another fleeting shot of what seems to be of fans coming out of a tunnel, possible early Wembley?
On the photo in question, I have also noticed that the background seems to have some sort of high fences, which I have never seen in relation to WAFC before, so it suggests that the upper part of the photo has been edited, though I am not sure why that might have been. Placing the 1904/05 team photo next to the 1905/06 team photo (attached) also from the Daily Post video, it would seem that players on the bottom row were still in the Wrexham team the following season.

You can see houses in the background?? But the picture seems to be pointing towards where the old clock used to be. The corner of Yale and border.
I did nt think there were houses that way. Ones that close anyway. Unless it's the old colliery houses??
The later match 1912 does seem to have some more inforced type barriers, which with the horse racing being finished, seems they have been adopted.
Not sure if you have seen these Jonesfach? Early 20th Century photo's that show the course clearly, looking from MRS to GUS, including the radius of the racetrack, and another which shows the goalposts at Plas Coch end.

This is an interesting site to play with if you have not seen it already Explore georeferenced maps - Map images - National Library of Scotland some detail with a transparency toggle on the left to overlay on a modern satellite view.

Thanks Rob.

Another one here Old maps of Wrexham

And here shows the earliest that I can find of The Racecourse and The Turf Tavern in 1819. http://www.bl.uk/onlinegallery/onlin...mify82548.html

Attached is the earliest map of the immediate area that I can find, including The Crispin Inn. (1675), although I have found articles refering to The Crispin Inn dating back to at least 1625.

I am trying to find a way to get access to Brighton University copies of Adams Weekly Courant (Chester) from the early 18th Century, as there are reports in the Courant about The Wrexham Races from this period, and it may give us information as to whether the said races took place at Plas Coch, or not. It would be good if someone had access.
