St.James? Or could be the one just by the Walnut next to the school but think that would be bit further away

The other thing to note, unless you already have done is that the meeting in in September. Obviously after the cricket season? And before football season to prevent damage?
In photo 1 the photo is taken from the Mold Road stand, behind railings that protected the course looking across to the Right at an angle towards Crispin Lane. If it had existed at that time, the kop would be just out of the picture on the right, and I believe that the houses in the distance would have been a culdesac of three rows of cottages, collectively known as Crispin Cottages.
The photo from The Turf balcony is taken looking to the left, up toward Plas Coch.
The photo's are 8 photo's of a photo-page 'At a Gallway Meeting in North Wales' 'The Whitsuntide event of The Brithish Pony and Gallway Racing Association at Wrexham' in the Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News dated 31 May 1902.
The photographs are titled
Leaving The Paddock for The First Race- The Paddock Plate.
The Start for The Coronation Cup
In The Paddock-Saddling Nellie Grey and Roseal
A False Start for The Coronation Cup
'Nuts' Winner of The New Century Race with owner and Jockey
The Re-run Whitsuntide Handicap, won by Little Titch.
Leaving the padock for the first raxe- The Paddock Plate
The start for The New Century Race.

(photo 6 shows Little Titch winning the race at the finishing post with the photograph taken from the Turf balcony)

When you say Mold Rd stand, are we talking about the old wooden stands, that were part of the football stadium. Eventually replaced by today's Mold Rd stand..?

Yes and No, I believe that this was a brick/stone built stand, built in 1854 (The first permanent Mold Road Stand) right next to the old Turf Tavern, although it would have had timber planks as seating. The angled bit with wooden seating was added at a later date. I am not sure what date that was added though, its on this thread somewhere, as are the dates of the other improvement that went on.
But it stood in the same place as the stand that was knocked down. I seem to remember that in the 60's and 70's you used to be able to see the original stonework, before they clad it all.

Apparently horseracing was stopped at the Racecourse sometime before 1890 due to rowdy crowd behaviour.

It was stopped in 1855 but started back up again in the 1870's I think (the exact dates are further back in this thread) somewhere Panda.
