Its not like they're giving us £20,000 and saying keep the change. If we did it on Wales instead of Portugal they would equally foot the bill. We wouldn't be any better off.

This is a difficult one to call, great trip away, no team as yet, present squad do not deserve,whose paying ? better used to build the budget.

Staggering stupidity from some on here.

Those complaining the money should be used elsewhere, you do realise they're not just giving us £20,000 and telling us "Spend on what you want, maybe put it into the 'Build the Budget' fund" !

They're funding the trip because they are our sponsors and see it as a possibilty to promote their brand in various ways.

This is totally win-win, I can't fathom how anyone could think otherwise.

didn't take long page two and someone whinging about it ... the money is coming from a sponsor who spots a commercial opportunity in paying for this trip. Yes money needs spending elsewhere but my understanding is that this is above and beyond what we would get from them and I am sure they will recoup their investment in sales and advertising. Other sponsors may also see benefits..... maybe this might "encourage" players who are on the fence about signing into doing so.....
