Just for confirmation, elected Trust Board members serve terms of up to three years before having to step down and seek re election by the membership if they so wish. There is no limit on the number of times they can do so. This year Peter Jones, John Mills, Spencer Harris, Gavin Jones and Richard Ulrich will complete three year terms.

Dave Jones has also given notice that he will be standing down from the board at the AGM after five years service. Everyone at WST thanks Dave for all his hard work.

Mark Williams, Stuart Roberts and Anita Robinson are elected board members whose terms do not expire this year.

In total there are seven vacancies for election which, as usual will give the new board the option of co-opting additional members if they have the necessary skills experience etc by advertising for expressions of interest. During the current year Brian Phillips, Sarah Smith Howard, Mike Lewis and Colin Williams were co-opted in this way. Their co-opted positions (which are always for 12 months) come to an end at the AGM

Hopefully this explains things.

Inexcusably we missed out Paul Smith. An elected board member who will continue in post. Sorry Paul!

I posted on an "elite" site that I wished for all fans to work together for the sake of our Club. The first response was from Braziliant , a prominent member of a major Supporters' group , who replied as follows:-

Would normally ignore such rubbish but spent much of yesterday finalising the FPA quiz to raise funds for our Club. Served for 30 years on Supporters' Association committee ....see last Saturday's matchday programme for list of things we achieved . To say that I am pissed off with Braziliant , and others who view all with alternative and questioning views as "knockers " would be an understatement.

That site is hardly an elite if i'm on it !!!

WAFC1926 - when I read Brazilaints post I never read it as directly attacking you.

There has been a lot criticism of how the trust and the club has been run lately. Some criticism is warranted and worthy of discussion (and new blood on the trust board will certainly get those discussions started).

But you cant deny that there are a group of people out there who constantly knock the trust and what they are trying to achieve without offering any real alternative. This is there opportunity to help make the change they desire.

The notice says that all applications must be posted to arrive by today. Don't see what the Club Shop opening hours have to do with it. Not frankly impressed with an organisation that breaks its own rules for such flimsy reasons and must assume that the appeal for candidates has been fruitless?

Surely the point is if the club shop is closed until Tuesday and some applications arrive today within the set timescale they will not be opened hence the deadline being extended?

Very harsh Dave even from you.
The closing time for applications is 23.59 on the day. The opportunity is there for members to drop off their application through the club shop up to that time.
I am led to believe that there are more than 8 applications so a vote will be necessary.
