The closing time for applications is 23.59 on the day. The opportunity is there for members to drop off their application through the club shop up to that time.
I am led to believe that there are more than 8 applications so a vote will be necessary.
I look forward to viewing the candidates statements,
Harsh even from you -I like that! The Trust is normally a stickler for rules and keeps insisting they follow Supporters Direct guidelines to the letter. Anyway, the Club Shop may be closed today but the Club Offices certainly are not.
Pleased if your info is correct and we have more than 8 applicants.

Apologies Dave. It was supposed to be a tongue in cheek remark.
Problem is that if the original date had been adhered to, the secretary would not have been able to access the post after the cut off time.
This way at least it gives a certain clarity to matters and a couple of days extra for applications which can only be beneficial.

Am looking forward to seeing the submissions of the new candidates. Though continuity and experience is of course very helpful to any organisation, it is also great to see some new voices coming through with new ideas.

That is the true strength of a community owned club.

Agree. Any organisation , either salaried Or volunteers , will find that the enthusiasm and ability of its key people will decline over time. Those WST volunteers who fought the Great War of Moss and Roberts need to be revitalised and energised by new people coming forward. That's life and hopefully that will happen. Time to move on from yesterday's people and get some new ideas and dynamism in.

That's a good narrative and is actually what's been happening for several years. This year for example there have been (if I'm reading the minutes correctly) at least three new people coopted onto the board. And from the class of 2011 (the end of the "Great War" as you put it ) only four board members are left.

I make that 5 Board members from 2011. Spencer Harris, John Mills, Gavin Jones , Pete Jones and Mark Williams. They are , without doubt, the most influential and powerful people in our movement. Not a criticism but an illustration that not much has changed at the top in 6 years.

The members above are also the most active in the organisation and have guided the trust and club over many years.
As one who, in the early days of the trust, was sceptical of their ability to run the club I admire the dedication of all who serve and applaud their efforts to achieve future success.
New blood is always welcome as long as there is some continuity and consistency in the aims.
