Although Peter Jones isn't on the club board. I think the point is that the four who are have been reapponted a number of times by the Trust board (the members representatives)
which regularly changes. And most of them are up for election this time so if people are unhappy they can make their voices heard. Those individuals now have 6 hard earned years experience of running the business. Including learning from mistakes one hopes. My perception is that recent changes to the club board ,not criticising those who left at all, has resulted in a generally more positive environment for everyone. My concern is succession planning and corporate memory. What happens if/when they step down. Football must be a unique business especially financially. Particularly with our model.

As one who, in the early days of the trust, was sceptical of their ability to run the club I admire the dedication of all who serve and applaud their efforts to achieve future success.
New blood is always welcome as long as there is some continuity and consistency in the aims.
I don't think we disagree on much QR. I would like , however , to see more interaction with members and a greater use of public discussion to involve them in formulating policy and working together. Will be interesting to see who have put themselves forward for election and whether or not there are any Members' Resolutions on the table.
As regards new blood I must pay tribute to Paul Smith of the Fundraising team who has been on the Board for a couple of years. Approachable, efficient, and hard-working , he illustrates the qualities needed in a go ahead Fans' Organisation. "Our Club, Our Ground " has become a bit of a cliche in recent years but the sentiment remains good. Let's all work together to bring back the great days for Wrexham AFC!

Funnily enough I remember our posts quite a few years ago when I was encouraging you to join the WST. Am so glad you did.

Wafc1926 as you know well yourself, has a huge amount of experience, so am always keen to hear his views on improvements on any subject connected with WAFC.

I think its about achieving a balance of continuity and experience coupled with new recruits and fresh ideas. And just like any successful organisation, it pays dividends to be seen to be open, transparent, flexible and dedicated to the cause.

Might be just me BUT I see 9 candidates for 8 vacancies - all giving their time, energy, enthusiasm, and experience, - do we really need to turn away a single candidate ?

Earlier in the season when Bircham and Horne left we were hearing that their responsibilities would be shared out amongst other members (in the short term).

Personally I would take on the 'Wrexham 9' and not reject anyone - perhaps different if we had multi candidates above the 8 but lets not lose anyone we don't have to.

As the old saying goes 'more hands means less work'.

You would have to change the constitution first.
Under the current rules we elect 8 members. It is often the case that the unsuccessful candidate is co opted onto the board to help in a sub committee to experience the running of the trust. On many occasions previously co opted members have been successful at the second or third attempt.

I pretty much expected that would be the case QR - thanks anyway.

At least all willing candidates are utilized in some way, no matter what the outcome of the vote is.
