I was unsure of his situation there, I just seen he'd only played 21 games. We need to sign proven goal scorers at this level or players who've scored 30-40 goals in leagues below.

Chesterfield offer quartet new deals but release 12 following relegation - BBC Sport

chesterfield have released 12 who will become available on 30th June. If this is the case with League clubs then how can we get any of these into the club before then?
Or are we allowed to speak to them when the season expires it's just their paid till then to give them reasonable time to find a new club? I'm confused!

Anyway I know Chesterfield have not had a great season but out of the 12 named I think Angel Martinez, Sylvan Ebanks Blake, Dan Jones, Jay O'Shea & Charlie Raglan could be worth looking at.

We are free to speak to them they just can't officially join until end June. Have you not played football manager?

Ha not since it was Championship Manager & I can't remember that far back, thanks for clarifying - do you know if we would be allowed to announce it and have them standing in front of the floodlights with the scarves and all that palaver before then or would we have to wait?
