Red Passions - Build the Budget - Part 2

Well done everyone a truly fantastic effort raising just shy of £45K in a few months. This will make a real difference to DK's budget, but it would be a shame if it lost momentum.

If we keep this ticking along, we could significantly add some more depth/quality into next season's squad for another small donation from us all. Let's show the board how much we want it and pledge a bit more.

Well here's an idea, to all of you own a sofa have a dig around it and see what money you can find, then donate it to the BtB fund. It's money you didn't know you had anyway, I found a fivers worth of coins down the back of my old one and that was put in the bucket the other week.

Think stickying the old thread slowed the views and posts down more than helped it. Great effort so far by everyone fairplay!

Aldershot outsiders at 6/1 to win the playoffs is great odds.

Stick the £43k on Aldersot and if it comes in we'll win the league and build a new Colliers on 9 acre.

Re: Red Passions - Build the Budget - Part 2

Updated total is £43,720 and milestone1 will wrap up this weekend.
We will then start a second phase with events like the duck race and trying to bring businesses into the mix.
If anyone has an idea or an event they could organise from work then let me know and I will see what we can do to help.

If I was still at my old place of work we could have had a sponsored sloth race :)

Although the sloths magically moved faster on their way to the canteen though :D

Phase 1 - Great effort all round giving DK £45K extra spending power.

Phase 2 - Can we double it , over the next 3 months??? Only an average of £10 a fan, £1 per week.

Difficult to say but in the region of 17% based on the current total of £45k I reckon.

I dont think 45k is 17% of 650k, its more like 7%

No, because that would mean our budget was less than £400k.

It's probably about 6-7%.

What it means for Keates though, if we hit, say £50k. He can bring in 5 players on £50k, rather than 5 players on £40k.

We've saved on wages for players by loaning them out. Plus we received fees for loaning Tilt and Rooney. We're due a 'bonus' from Guiseley because they stayed up and I think we get one if FGR go up.

Money from Taylor and Davies too. Hopefully Moult goes for a decent fee in the summer...

I told a workmate that I gave x amount into our build the budget fund. I also informed him that we have around £45k in the fund in total. He said "won't the club the club just deduct this amount from what they were going to give Keates?" And I thought I was cynical !

It was stated that this amount would not affect the budget given to DK as that will be calculated without considering this amount.

Re: Red Passions - Build the Budget - Part 2

It was not to replace budget it was as it says to build the budget. It has already been confirmed that the budget DK is starting the season with is higher than what GM started last season with. Then the BTB funds will be added on top of that.

Thanks to all on the BTB committee, sterling job done all. Anticipating an exciting couple of weeks ahead.

Re: Red Passions - Build the Budget - Part 2

The fund just continues to grow - it now stands at £46,470 and donations still seem to be coming it - so keep it up. Maybe a few signings will push it even further.

Great support from the fans.
