Last time I saw nine acre was playing for Hawarden Grammar School in an away fixture in 1963. No matter how hard I tried to explain to the teacher in charge that I was going to the match that afternoon, he insisted we travelled 'home' on the coach. We arrived back in Shotton just in time to catch the steam train back up to Wrexham.

Looking at the video clip and hearing the comments from Dean and colleagues it now seems far more positive than before. I agree that Colliers Park needs a lot of work, and hopefully we'll get it back one day, but if we can get the coaching right nine acre is a very good place to prepare for a promotion challenge.

I imagine there would be huge resident opposition to that.

Yes your probably right. Cant really see an issue with a 3g and changing rooms. Floodlights would probably be out of the question tho

If I was only just 'crap' it was clearly one of my better games, and anyway, at least one of your goals was offside.

I can recall playing for Hawarden Grammar school against Grove Park as well.
Can't recall the year or the age group as I wasn't one of the regular team.
I think we got stuffed. Would be around 1963 - 65.
