We arrived back in Shotton just in time to catch the steam train back up to Wrexham.

Looking at the video clip and hearing the comments from Dean and colleagues it now seems far more positive than before. I agree that Colliers Park needs a lot of work, and hopefully we'll get it back one day, but if we can get the coaching right nine acre is a very good place to prepare for a promotion challenge.
Crikey you are old!

Played Rugby, Footy and Cricket on that pitch from 1968 - 1973....

Scored a try against mold Alex on there. Back to footy though, I hope they put nets/screens above the fence . Unless we get some decent strikers , after last seasons attempts at shooting we're sure to lose a few balls or hit the odd passing car.

No need for nets. We don't take shots at goal lol.

Seriously though the pitches are looking great.

Surely there must be grants available to build changing rooms with showers and a car parking facility? If you make the entrance near the top end of Westminster drive, there would be no impact on houses and traffic.

Can't recall the year or the age group as I wasn't one of the regular team.
I think we got stuffed. Would be around 1963 - 65.
Fully admit my memory is not at its best these days but over the years I think we won most of our games against Grove Park - it would just be the lottery of the year group but we did have some very good players who went on to play at higher levels. We always seemed to come unstuck at Llanrwst, Northwich and Holywell. As mentioned above, the challenge was always to get back to Shotton for the Wrexham train.

Following a home game at Hawarden in March 1962 I went straight to Hawarden Station to catch the early train for the purpose of collecting autographs at the players entrance. The Hartlepools coach duly arrived and I collected virtually the whole team.
I sent the page to Geoff Stelling a couple of weeks ago, complementing him on the publicity he give to Prostate cancer awareness and reminding him that however bad the current team may be they are not losing 10:1!!!!

Good stuff Sir!
I'm sure that Jeff Stelling will gain great solace from your message following yesterday's news about his team
