We always seemed to come unstuck at Llanrwst, Northwich and Holywell. As mentioned above, the challenge was always to get back to Shotton for the Wrexham train.

Following a home game at Hawarden in March 1962 I went straight to Hawarden Station to catch the early train for the purpose of collecting autographs at the players entrance. The Hartlepools coach duly arrived and I collected virtually the whole team.
I sent the page to Geoff Stelling a couple of weeks ago, complementing him on the publicity he give to Prostate cancer awareness and reminding him that however bad the current team may be they are not losing 10:1!!!!
Nice to welcome him to the world of real football. Its even better down in the Evo Stik where players are part time and earn an honest living as well.

Slightly worrying to see 3 or 4 molehills appear on nine acre this morning.

Some bloke using it as a golf driving range will not help either.

I think I must have been on that train with you, but from Shotton, to get the autographs
Just trying to remember if it was a steam train or diesel.
In those days it was exciting going to the match on a train, when you were a little lad

Spencer Harris has just confirmed that they're not molehills, but the result of some digging out by the groundsmen.

Slightly more concerning that some dickhead thinks he can play golf on there though.

It has been used by the occasional golfer for years. I have seen them in the past and they have kept of the pitches. I do hope they don't do any damage.

On that line steam with soot in your eye. Then one of the first lines around here with diesels. You might recall the diesel freezing up in one of the harsh winters of the 1960s.

If you get worried by a couple of groundwork holes and an occasional golfer, you probably need a holiday.

I read this post with the music from the Hovis ad playing in my mind's eye.
