Good post. Too many think they're experts and simply don't have the knowledge or experience to make a comment of any meaning.

Yes, Steve Evans may not have been the most stylistic defender for us, but he got international attention and has remained local ever since and, therefore, has something that suggests he knows something about what it takes to be a successful defender. Right now I'd take somebody that knows what they're doing if it helps us tighten up at the back.

We're not in a position to turn down that kind of input and if Evans is willing to come here then he deserves a chance. I can't see Keates taking a chance on somebody that doesn't match his own work rate and that in itself has to mean something.
