Steve Evans certainly had personal issues towards his latter time with us which followed him to TNS. Hopefully those are behind him now, especially in the context of working with younger players. Everyone deserves the right to 'move on' and to his credit Steve appears to have done just that.
I am really surprised to hear about his teams 'passing' abilities - that part of the game was the least of his attributes as a player. You could almost see the anxiety on his face when he had the ball at his feet. As for the rest of his game he was exactly what we need in a centre half - great in the air, fearless in the tackle and, at his best, he was quick on his feet for a big guy - equally important was his desire to be a winner - precisely what we need now.

If it was possible I'd like to see him given a chance.

well he was mate , I seen it , and spoke to a team mate of His this morning , He said the leak on Darlington is probably down to him being pi==sed as he`s in Spain on holls atm , He text this player Wednesday and said Darlo `s gone to Wrexham !! .

I would have to agree to disagree.

Year on year Denis Smith replaced good players with worse ones, and I would consider Evans in that category. Alright he liked to stick his head in there an all that but I would never consider him a "top quality centre half".

The fact he played for Wales says more about Wales than it does Evans. Nothing against the guy because I dont know him from Adam, but he was part of the side that took us into this league in the first place.
