Default Re: George Harry gone

Saw George play at Eastleigh and thought he put in a lot of effort without much end product. I expected him to be offered a deal but would trust Dean's judgement on this. My biggest criticism was that he seemed to be easily knocked off the ball. Andy Davies will have seen how he has developed physically as well as skills-wise over the last few years and maybe that has had an influence on the decision. Good luck to the lad.

By the way has Marx accepted his deal? How long is it for?

Absolutely bang on the money

Everything Mills did he was hammered for it

Everything Keates does is fantastic so say the majority on RP

Well let's go back a little bit

Rooney gets played in his proper position and scores vital goals from midfield... He has left the building

Tilt most people's choice for player of the year but was allowed to leave at a crucial time as he was not going to be here next year, surely could have been kept and at least made feel wanted,it's not as if he is playing with FGR every week but... HE has left the building

Evans was made captain by Keates, why did this happen, was it to annoy Carrington? Certainly not a meticulous decision when months later... He has left the building

Riley had started to find great form and won all the player of the year awards rightly so,,, He has left the building

Keates then tells everyone they are on trial on an interview situation and the players are playing for contacts, also he wants to give our youth an opportunity at the club and not use other clubs young players

Allen brought in as someone different and we could see he offered something different but.. He has left the building

White who has had a horrible illness fights his way back, gives us our best day of the season, he scores five goals in the last five games of the season to end the season by starting only 15 games scoring 7 and having 4 assists, a great return and most people would have kept him but... He has left the building

Finally

Harry a young player who was given a chance fleetingly was even appointed penalty taker and scored then frozen out until last game of season, he certainly fell into category of giving our young player a chance but He has left the building

Obviously Keates says he is meticulous, but his decisions don't bear this out.

Lets be honest we were all surprised when he offered
Evans the captaincy
Let Rooney and Tilt go
Let Riley and White go
And now Let Harry go

When a manager makes a lot of decisions that we as fans question then surely we can't keep saying like a mantra

In Keates we trust

I for one don't trust him at all

Here is the creme de la creme

He says if I don't get my number one target then hopefully number two then three, what a laughable thing to say

He didn't need to have a clean slate

Surely he should have tried to keep some of the players I have mentioned above and added some quality.

The more I listen to him and see his actions, I see a man who is not all he seems to be

You were backing Mills when everyone else on the planet could see he was finished, so I think I'll take your predictions with a pinch of salt.

You don't even know what players he will sign yet but despite that you are judging the players he's released when you have nothing to compare them to yet.

Why on earth would you keep players who were average at best for the majority of the season?

You've been conned by a few end of season nothing games where players showed up for once. So naive.

All this Rooney love in is total bollocks too. He was MIA for at least 6 months of the season but we'll forget that and make out he's some sort of non league Messi. He moved onto that massive power house of football where he can realise his potential I see, Guiseley. Ever wondered why a league club hasn't come in for this great player

Terrible post, and here is why;

1. Everything Keates doesnt isn't fantastic, he was criticised making Rob captain. Mills was praised when he started and a lot were convinced we would do well this season despite horrendous signings and end of last season's form. Keates is getting rid of dead wood. That is why he is being praised.

2. Rooney left as he was no doubt costly. We had managed to guide ourselves close enough to safety. Keates was thinking ahead to next season. Something Mills failed at. We saved money and actually got some for a loan fee and bonus. Smart move and has paid off.

3. Tilt was going to leave. Why keep him when we didn't need him? We stayed up, it was the right call. If FGR go up we get a bonus again. Save some money and make some. Another smart move. Sensing a theme here.

4. Riley had a good season, and i was surprised to see him go. But let's not forget his injury problems and his age. He could so easily end up injured all season. He then becomes a big overhead. Keates has done his scouting and homework. I think he knows if Riley is needed.

5. Allen didn't show much. He ran around a bit and looked like he would take on a man but never did. Keates has seen him in training. Obviously the lad isn't good enough.

6. White looked decent towarda the end of the season. But we don't owe him anything. If he isn't the type of striker Keates wants why should we keep him? Keates clearly believes he can get better bang for his buck. White wasn't anything special. He was just the first decent striker we have seen in ages.

7. Harry shown nothing. Keates sees him a hell of a lot more than you. Why should we keep him? Keates only wants to use our talented youth. The likes of Smith and Marx who have shown something about them. What did Harry ever show when he came on? I can't think of anything.

Oh and 8. I will give you that Evans as captain was a bad choice. Perhaps Keates felt he would thrive. But it was a mistake. And Keates getting rid of him shows he's willing to admit to mistakes. So from that there's a positive.

Your post just screams bias to Mr Mills, who has been relegated with York by the way. That's where we would be had Keates not been ruthless and got rid of our horrendous squad.

Look at the bigger picture for once.

I believe caddy started the thread "Rooney a disgrace of a player" and is now questioning his release.
Although to say he was MIA for at least 6 months is a total exaggeration as the season is only just over 8 months long and he left with 2 months left and possibly saved our season in the 6 weeks he played well. He was no worse than anybody else (bar tilt) in the 1st 3 and a half months til New Years and was being played in a deep lying role for some of that
