Default Time to push the local businesses?

Not in a hard way but, I think I'm going to be asking local businesses I buy from if they support the club and, if it's reasonably possible, using someone else who does if they dont.

I understand the sentiment, but I'd prefer to adopt the route of what can the fans of the club/the club offer local businesses- this will, in turn, make it more likely they will sponsor.

Just because a successful business is based in Wrexham doesn't mean they should be expected to support the club in my opinion

Fair point, but if I'm honest I don't believe the current board of the WST will ever push too hard into local businesses. I've previously said how surprised I was when Pete Jones, when asked about outside investment, said its not up to the WST to actively pursue investment, they have to come knocking on our door (paraphrase). If that is our mindset I don't expect us to be knocking on doors too hard.

I'm thinking my business supply chain would come before football any day of the week. Just being truthful.

Totally agree, that's why I said where possible. However, if the question is asked by enough people, of enough people, it could make a difference.

Boycotting businesses that don't support the club is precisely the wrong way to engage with the local business community.

The best thing we as fans can do to show the potential benefits of engaging with the club is to throw our weight behind the businesses that sponsor us currently. Buy Village Bakery bread, treat your missus to a meal at the Fat Boar etc.

If companies see a return on sponsorship investment they'll get behind us. This is one of the very few areas I think Chester are actually more effective than we are.

That sounds like blackmail.... Only one way to try and get businesses with no interest in WFC. That's a successful team.......And perhaps some publicity that goes with it...

The club has said they are looking to more businesses to back the BtB in the next phase. We've probably got a chance with the companies owned or run by Wxm fans, but not sure how we can sell it to the others? We are going to need some extra support if we are to get near the Grimsby £100K total.
