Re: Russell Penn leaving
He wasn't that good anyway - I am sure DK will do better

Re: Russell Penn leaving
I think it's a blow personally. Keates was obviously keen on him and confident he will sign.

Not sure if serious:eek: |
Re: Russell Penn leaving
I wonder what made him decide not to sign? Probably financial but it could be that he wouldn't make a decision so DK may have pulled the plug on the deal.

I think the stunning evidence from the "Time to Push" thread demonstrates that he is serious. |
Re: Russell Penn leaving
It is disappointing, but I'm surprised he has got a better offer. Clearly his league days are behind him, perhaps one of the smaller clubs with a bit of money like Fylde or Barrow have tempted him.

Re: Russell Penn leaving
Not worried about us finding a replacement, but we're seriously not doing well at retaining players the last couple of seasons.
For some reason I reckon he might end up at Hartlepool. Posted via mobile theme |
Re: Russell Penn leaving
Well DK did say he wasn't going to wait around for anyone so perhaps the boss made the decision for him. We shall see where he ends up and that will tell you a lot.
He was decent when he first came but I'd rather have Darlington and no Penn rather than the other way around. |
Re: Russell Penn leaving
I might be in a minority but I'm disappointed. He made a massive difference when he first signed and because he had virtually no support in central midfield he was having to do the work of three men. I'm not sure how good N'golo Kante would look at the base of a diamond with Barry, Shenton and Evans in front of him.
