I think it's what someone in here mentioned before, he's accepted a package deal with Gateshead including a place to live. I don't think he was worth pushing the boat out for, and I don't think he'll be a major asset for Gateshead.

80 miles 5 x a week 400 miles. Not cheap. Maybe that on top of a little bit extra wages it adds up. The thing that hurts is that players dont see us a big move even in the conference.

1h 40 mins to drive from Gateshead to York, no motorways.

2h 20 mins to drive from York to Wrexham, including the nightmare M62 and the M56, so in reality it will be even more. That's at least an extra 1 hour 20 mins commute each day.

That's a big difference and many people would consider moving jobs because of it.

Says he loved his time at Gateshead too - and unlike here where this is a complete overhaul he will see a number of familiar team mates when he goes back.

What is the attraction in playing in front of 4000 -5,000 fans for X amount of money when you can play in front of 1600 for 2X
