Why don't people get the facts before judging this. We don't know if Keates wanted him as a first team option or backup. Maybe he's been offered a two year deal elsewhere which he isn't worth at his age. Who knows?

Exactly!!!! I like what Keates has done and that is why I admire the fact he has a value of what he believes a player is worth and sticks to it. I did say he has a massive task in the summer, but in my opinion unlike his predecessor will have already put in a lot of groundwork on researching players and will know what he wants.[/QUOTE]

Is Dixie a 'swinger' then. Explains a lot.

Apparently according to FB/Twitter it's nothing to do with money.

No great feelings either way. The main thing is that he has let DK know of his plans early so we are not mucked around. Best of luck to him - roll on his replacement!

Its not the detail that concerns me. Its the pattern of the club wanting to retain certain players and we rarely achieve that anymore forcing us to start from scratch every summer.

And then we wonder why we can't compete?

This. If someone else has offered him a 2 year deal on a better wage then I can't blame him for moving. Imagine the uproar on here if we'd have given him a 2 year deal on a bigger wage.
