Hopefully DK's second choice will be solid

Hard to believe that some people on here were so adamant about how bad our players were in the season that they said none of them deserved new contracts. How can you square that one when people are up in arms now that those same players have either not been offered contracts, or ones that they feel aren't generous enough?

Every player in the world is worth X - whatever X is. Some players think they are worth more. Some agents push players to believe they are worth more. The more players are told that X is their salary ceiling the better it will be for football - especially at our level. I reckon that DK feels the same way. There will be more than enough players available over the coming weeks for DK to build his squad. If he panicks now in the way that some fans seem to be, it will be bad for the club, the fans, and football in general. If some mug clubs want to run their budgets into the ground picking up over-priced players, let them - particularly if they are players who you have already said aren't worth a new contract...

It's early days the season has just finished!

Most will take a break go on holiday etc like normal people! Atleast we won't be paying his wage for a while until we sign somebody else.

As for the sell the club now etc give this season a chance first, we will know what we are potentially looking at in regards to competing with the signings we make and it's going to be aiming for the playoffs at best with abit of luck on our side. I'm happy to watch keates go for it with something to prove than have a half hearted alchi who talks about clough and the European cup rather than train his team.

Shame, he often carried one of our poorest midfields in the clubs history. Would like to see him alongside some quality players in the middle of the park.

DK signed him it seems to be conveniently forgotten on here, non of his signing in January were any good Jennings and Penn were the best of an average recruitment.
It's probably down to money offered, it's becoming more obvious as each player don't agree terms we are trying to buy quality on the cheap as in everything you get what you pay for, we're are becoming like a pound shop club.
Penn started off well and is one reason we climbed away from the bottom, but he had crap around him.
I await to see who under 36 with quality who will join us, my ST application stays in the draw until I see evidence of ambition.

Christ what meltdown from some. Let's so who we do sign, eh?
We freed up quite a lot of money just before signing Penn by shipping out a load of players.
Also Keates wanted to keep him on for next season so he obviously saw him as more than an emergency signing to see out this season.
