Midfielder opts to stay on the other side of the Pennines... We can confirm that Russell Penn has declined the club’s offer of a contract next season. “I’m sorry to see Russ go, but understand his reasoning,” said manager Dean Keates. “I understand his personal situation and that he needs to stay on that side country for family reasons. “We were close on the financial side of things, but I fully respect his reasons for deciding not to accept our offer. “I have to thank Russ for his contribution in the second half of the season, he has been great to have a round the club, both on and off the field. “I wish him well in the future and know he will do well for his next club.” Read more at Russell Penn declines Wrexham AFC contract offer I do not see how anyone can read anything in to that re DK and Penn's relationship and DK man management skills. Some things I read are just beyond me, I dont know where the rational comes from. |

Because apparently it's the club spinning something to hide something else. If you can't believe an official statement, then who can you believe? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Russell Penn leaving
Dunn signed and Penn declined. Of the two I'm glad it's that way around. Think we should stop getting worked up and see how the squad looks at the end of June. if keates is fishing in the L2 release pool their season only finished on Sunday. And he says that a number of contracts are on the table. Let's wait and see and hope that the quality coming inis better than last season.

Re: Russell Penn leaving
Some players will actually sign for a club for less money. If it meant they weren't commuting 5 hours a day, a 3/4 times a week.
At his age he isn't worth a two year deal not would it make sense to uproot his family.
