Penn's first games for us, had us a bit awestruck.... A midfield player, who could actually do what midfielders should do....It was pretty basic stuff, but much better than the inept midfielders we already had..Then even he faded, after a few matches, and he is I think a bit injury prone....
All in all....Not a great loss.....But..It all depends now, who DK brings in...

I've heard from a very good source that Russel Penn's wife has been very ill, and his reason for turning down our approach was to avoid putting her through the need to move.

If this is true, then my thoughts are, good luck to him...and her......and thanks for the help you were able to give when we needed it most.

Pepe, Jose & Jurgen land all their targets, but only when they pay over the odds and still finish second best. It's part & parcel of footy, there is always someone bigger in the food chain. They operate in a different world where they have their existing players contracted for a number of years so tied in, we don't.

What is difficult to accept but a sign of the times, lower league clubs are not guaranteed to keep their kids, it is all geared up for bigger clubs to pick them off for a development fee, with add ons if we are lucky. Fingers crossed that Marx wants to commit to the club that gave him his break
