![]() I used to have lengthy discussions with a friend's dad (big wrexham fan) about the playoffs. He was a bit old school and thought if you finish 2nd/3rd etc, you deserve to go up as opposed to finishing 4 places below. However, I believe the playoffs are one of the greatest inventions in the game.

![]() Daft idea. If its not adding an extra automatic promotion spot then its a bad idea. I'm still coming to terms with the fact we finished second in the league and didn't go up. Absurd and unfair.

![]() Not that I would complain if we came 7th and went up, but it would be pretty bad to be honest. I don't believe in play-offs anyway as you have a whole season to prove you are better than the rest. It shouldn't be decided over a couple of games.
However, they exist and always will. There's no way a team in 7th should be able to go up over a team in 2nd. It just makes them even more of a lottery. Bad idea. Last edited by NedStarksGhost; 12th May 2017 at 09.05:39.. |

![]() That's too ambitious aiming for top spot Dixie nobody at Wrexham aims for the top anymore just the play offs, ridiculous really it accepting being second best. Any club start of season should be aiming for the top, if Lincoln can do it why can't we? Obviously with starting from scratch yet again the odds of even challenging for the play offs are not good, but at start of season until impossible to do it top spot should be the aim. A lot of fans at this club after 9 yrs of mediocrity have accepted being just that mediocre. Posted via mobile theme |

Exactly they may as well just draw a couple of clubs out the hat two play in the final it's ridiculous, what if the club finishing 7th went up by a slice of luck in the final, that club would probably come straight back down the following season, it could be a club with an average 900 gate. I don't and have never liked the play offs personally it's not fair on a club finishing second in this league and 3rd 4th in the one above a whole season fighting for top spot just miss out and go out in a play off by a dodgy penalty. What next play offs for relegation? Posted via mobile theme |

![]() I think you need the playoffs to keep the season alive for most teams otherwise the last couple of months will pretty much be pointless for most and that would hit attendances.
Best and fair solution (similar to what another poster suggested) i think is 1st - Automatic 2nd - Automatic 3rd - Final of Playoff 4th - Semi Final (2 leg) Winner plays 3rd in the Final 5th & 6th play each other over 2 legs to play 4th in the Semi Also i think the Final should not be played at Wembley. Most playoff Finals will not attract any more than 30000, Play at a prem club 30k - 40k capacity and keep some atmosphere. |
